Using the bring your own carrier (BYOC) model to transition to cloud-based unified communications

Moving to cloud-based unified communications has benefitted companies in many ways. Yet it also has created more complexity. Many companies are experiencing “UC sprawl” as individual departments or locations adopted their own cloud-based UC solution without considering the rest of the company. It can be a real productivity-killer—not to mention a customer nuisance—when voice services can’t run smoothly between environments. In this type of scenario, using native calling plans from cloud providers becomes more expensive and restrictive. Instead, companies are turning to bring your own carrier (BYOC), a way to simplify the deployment and management of multi-cloud/multi-vendor environments and ensure the ability to simplify transformation in the future.
